Among Us review
Among Us is a fun multiplayer game, in which players are separated in two teams of Crewmates and Impostors. The trick is that you can’t tell who is who and being super cautious is your only ticket to surviving. Sounds cool? Download Among Us!
Among Us has a simple plot. Your team’s spaceship goes defunct and sort of crash-lands. Your squad must fix it through accomplishing tasks and do anything within their power to fire up its dead, noiseless engines.
Within 10-15 minutes or so, the space crew will have to calibrate the distributor, clean O2 filters, empty chute, fill canisters, reset breakers, fix weather nodes and even take care of the garbage. You might think it’s an outer space workshop simulator of sorts...
But it’s not that simple! Among 10 players, there is 1 traitor — the so-called Impostor. Their objective is to sabotage the repairs and liquidate the entire crew one by one without revealing their secret villainous identities.
So, that’s where the fun begins. While you’re on your way to fix the space latrine, with a space toilet brush, you need to watch you back otherwise you’ll get stabbed in it with a space fork.
So, aside from reviving the crippled spacecraft, you’ll also have to do a bit of detective work Hercules Poirot. Closely monitor your teammate’s behavior, don’t fall for the deceptive reports via Discord and avoid staying alone with someone else in a blind spot.
Cloak & Dagger
Impostors get a few perks to achieve their dark goals. First, they can travel via the ventilation shafts. It allows to exfiltrate the murder scene quickly while also remaining unseen by the rest of the crew,
Second, they can bring in confusion. It includes misinformation, false accusations, persuasive acting, and so forth.
One of the most popular tactics of tricking the team is to accuse an innocent player of a murder attempt in the voice chat and propose an anonymous voting to have him thrown out in the outer space. However, there’s always a chance it may backfire.
Also, as an impostor you must use the map to your advantage. Mira HQ and Polus are extremely fragmented, for example. You can easily lure a victim in a blind spot, do the deed and flee via the vents.
But one wrong step is enough for the Crewmates to win. If another witness spots your failed murder attempt, it means instant game over: you’ll be catapulted into the cosmic deadness.
All this detective rollercoaster is confined within doodly visuals. It adds a grotesque sense of humor to rather dark gameplay. Plus, your character gets to rock a tiny unique hat of choice: a captain’s hat, viking helmet, constable’s cap, and so forth.
